Some Key Information and Reminders
Campus maps, Buildings, & Floor Plans
Finding your way around campus can be challenging. Campus maps are available here. If you are unsure of room designations, Classroom Management has a simple table with building abbreviation codes. The Western Accessibility Office has an accessibility map of the campus. Here is a link to the Social Science Center floor plans.
Students may be required to travel when conducting research. It is good practice to save your receipts and boarding passes in case you are eligible for conference research funding. Students incurring education-related expenses can also claim them on their income tax return.
Any student who receives payment working as a TA, RA or GSA or is awarded a scholarship or award must file for Canadian Federal Income Tax.
Students travelling abroad for research must complete the following forms, in advance of travel: Acknowledgement and Assumption of Risk, Emergency Information and Fieldwork Safety Plan. In addition, students should register with Western International to ensure all travel documents, vaccines, etc. are in place.
